Set on 1 and a half acres, Pugwash Bay Annagassan is a beautiful rural creche located in front of Annagassan harbour, with uninterrupted views of Dundalk bay, the Cooley and Mourne mountains. Yet it is only 8 mins to the M1 motorway and easily accessible to an area covering Castlebellinghham, Dromiskin, Blackrock, Dunleer, Togher Stabannon etc.

It is a purpose built creche and has been in business since 2003 and caters for children from 12 months to 5 years offering full day care Montessori and after school service. There are two separate  large external play areas.

What is unique to this childcare facility is the nature trail and welly walk that  are loved by the children. The nature trail path takes the kids and their parents through the trees and the children can find the "animals" that are located under the trees. They learn to count how many they have found, and usually make all the animal sounds!

The welly walk goes along the top path on the site. This walk takes them to a seated picnic area, where they can see directly out across the bay, just as the vikings did from the very same spot in 852 A.D when they settled in Annagassan. They  regularly see the fishing boats coming and going from the harbour. On the welly (nature) walk, the children are encouraged to study nature and it is incorporated into their curriculum. They are provided with magnifying glasses and encouraged to discover bugs, spiders webs, creepy crawlies etc and view all the local wildlife including herons, cormorants, geese, ducks, swans, kesterals and otters.
