March was a busy time here in Pugwash Bay Estate- we had a fantastic st Patrick’s day parade out on the front green thanks to all the parents/grandparents who came to watch the children even though you all got caught in the rain the children really enjoyed themselves.

The children also made leprechaun traps to see could they trap the leprechauns and find the gold Around the garden. They are still looking for the gold glitter.

April was a fun month with Easter being around the corner. The children enjoyed making Easter eggs and bunnies. We also had an Easter egg hunt around the garden which was great fun. We got a bug hotel for our garden and then made our own bug hotel from recycled materials the children really got stuck into this project.

In may we learned all about bugs, butterflies and caterpillars. We learned lots of poems about the bugs. We are now discussing details about the graduation and finding out what the children would like to do .

Graduation date is Tuesday the 20th June -times to follow

Please parents send in labelled sunhats and sun cream for the warm weather hope it lasts !!!!

Welcome back everyone, it is good to be back. A big well done to all our new friends who have settled in great. Our first month has been very enjoyable with lots of exciting stories from the children of their summer holidays.

We are thrilled with our new cosy corners – they are great for story time. Jo jingles and Tara are also back this term and we have a jam packed fun program about the Olympics which came from the interests of the children.

Our pirate theme is in full swing and we are learning lots of songs, doing some wonderful art and games as part of it. Our art boards are full of all the fantastic pirate hats, swords and lots more for you all to see. Our family tress are coming along nicely so please help us with them by continuing to send in lots of photos of the immediate and extended family.

Congratulations to Rebecca and John on the birth of their baby daughter Lucy. Sean and Abbie are thrilled with their new baby sister and have been telling us all about her.

We are having our pirate dress up and treasure hunt on Friday the 30th of September and we are looking forward to seen all the different fancy dress ideas you have.

Happy birthday to Darragh and Jj who had birthdays this month. We all had some delicious cake – yummy!

Dear parents,

Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone for making we feel so welcome here in Lis Na Dara over the last few months. I would like to remind all parents if they have any issues or concerns or if I can be of any help to you can always reach me on my email lisnadara@pugwashbay.ie or on 042-9338055.

The preparations for September are underway and this brings some changes. ECCE returns on Monday August 29th.

We try to be as flexible and as accommodating for all families here in Lis Na Dara I would like to take this opportunity of reminding all parents that ECCE / Sessional Morning places are 9.30am sharp to 12.30. Extra times outside of theses hours must be booked in advance. I would ask all parents to be aware of drop off and collection times and we thank you for your cooperation with this.

Due to our new term starting on Monday the 29th of August unfortunately we have no availability on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday mornings for extras/after schoolers etc. We do have availability from 12.30 onwards. We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • Shauna & Helen in the Smarties room,
  • Salamat & Deirdre in the Little Buttons room who have moved room location,

We would like to officially welcome Deirdre to the team here in Lis Na Dara, she has moved over from Knockbridge where she was based during the summer and she comes with her BA in Early Childhood Studies.

We would like to welcome all our new children and families to Pugwash Bay and welcome all those returning after the summer holidays too.

Here in Pugwash Bay in Mornington we are having such a busy Summer.
Everybody loves this time of the year, all the children, from our little babies to our after school children. Each day they come in and play with all their friends.
We love when the weather is great as we get to play outside all the time, we even get to bring our toys out to the garden and have lots of messy play. We also have sand a water play and a music wall.
At the moment we are doing summer camp, this week we had a water fight and had a keep fit exercise day. We also made pizza and Minion buns and of course lots of painting and gluing.
We are very excited for our dress up day, because who doesn’t like a party. We especially love when it is one of our friend’s birthdays where we get to have cake and play musical chairs and share in all the fun.
We have lots more in store for the rest of the summer, science experiments, trips on our Turtle bus and if you come to meet us you will get to see how lovely our wonderful Crèche is and all of the boys and girls in it.

IMG-20160628-WA0000Date: July 2016

Dear Diary,

Wow what a month! There so much to write, I don’t know where to begin. It all started on a warm sunny day when Megan heard a knock at the door. When she answered it, she found some little lost puppies and kittens at the door. They were so cute! One of the girls loved cats and said “I have a pink one at my house”. Another boy said that “I have two dogs at home”! Everyone was so excited to show them around their new home.

The puppies absolutely loved our new Barbeque play area in Ruth and Gráinne room. Lots of the children were practising making birthday cakes there, since there was a lot of birthday’s recently.  Ethan and Ellie were turning five, Elijah and Annabelle turned four and Emma, Finn, Ben, Anna, Patrick, Jamie, Steven and Cian turned three along with Shay turning two. Can you believe it? Everyone sang Happy Birthday to Ruth when they made her a pretend birthday cake.

The baby room had a big party too! They had a teddy bears picnic for all the mammies and daddies to come too. They collected yummy strawberries to eat with chocolate on top. There wasn’t that many left because the puppies had nearly eaten them all- oh dear! We hoped to have some sunflowers too since the children had worked really hard planting and looking after them but unfortunately we didn’t have enough sun. Thankfully Jenny’s mam came to the rescue! Phew!

The Kittens preferred our new and improved hairdressing box. They loved getting eye shadow put on (“blue’s your colour!”) and their hair cut and styled (“this bow doesn’t look right!”). Both loved it when they got treats, like hotdogs on our 4th of July celebration and our chocolate factory.

The puppies and Kittens have decided they’re going to stay for good. We’ve made them a new home so they’ll be comfortable. You should pop over and take a look!

July was so exciting, goodness know what will August bring? If you visit soon, you’ll never know- there might be a Tour de France Pugwash Bay Style happening!

Do We Really Trust Children

To do the best for children we must believe they are capable and also treat them like they are. It is no longer acceptable to think we (the adult) know best. Let’s listen to our little people 😊
