Learning Together
A Parent's Guide to Early
Childhood Learning |
|
This guide is for the parents of children
between birth and the age of six.
Research studies have consistently
found that these early years of life are
critical to the emotional and intellectual
development of a child.
The aim of this guide, therefore, is to provide parents with
information about the value of early childhood learning and
the impact it can have on a child’s quality of life, their whole
development and their future opportunities and experiences.

Rainy Day

Easy Playdough Recipe
- 1 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of salt
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 cup water
- Paint / food colouring
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and add the water as required
It is similar to pastry in that you need to add enough water to bring the ingredients together but not too much or it will be sticky and hard to manage
Use your hands to make a ball and turn onto a floured surface
Kneed for a few minutes and you will be able to feel whether it is too wet or too dry
It should not have too many cracks / tears in it, if it does you may need a little more water
It should come easily off your hands, if not kneed in a little more flour
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week

Announcing the arrival of the new
'Turtle Bus'
We are delighted to have the 'Turtle Bus' which
seats six children at a time allowing us to get all
the children outside almost every day. Young or
old the bus is enjoyed by all ages and with safety
straps and two handles for staff to push and pull
it makes it a safe and easy way to get the
children out into the fresh air. |

Pugwash Bay - Finalist in
Business Growth Category
The recent Dundalk Chamber of Commerce Business awards were held in the Fairways Hotel and Pugwash Bay Preschools were nominated for the Best in Business Growth Award. There were four finalists including ourselves and each had to document and show achievement within their individual industries in the last three years. We have been fortunate to have opened 2 creches since September 2008 and that is down to the excellent reputation we have built for ourselves.
